With full-color images and black-and-white photographs, Steve Wilson chronicles his idyllic boyhood life in the mountains of Pennsylvania. The family’s reluctant move to California is an invitation to new adventures. The story expands as Steve and companions experience the lessons of nature’s way in the rough and free life of a band of young men working as firefighters in the early years of the US Forest Service:

Memory is a time machine…a cascade of images reaching people and places of the past. Looking back over the years, I see the beginnings of a lifetime of experience and impressions…and so, life becomes a moment in time.

Dr. Steve Wilson has enjoyed a richly varied life as a scientist, inventor, university professor, artist, and chronicler of life.
